WORLD MISSION

 News: Church twinning

Diary

The main aim of world mission at John Knox is to put others first who are less fortunate than ourselves. We do this through Prayer, Giving of our time and money & also through educating ourselves on the needs of others.

Our prayer team who meet every Saturday Morning in the Cottage actively pray for global situations linked to poverty, conflict & persecution.

Get in touch with them and help promote prayer in our church.

EMMS is one of the main Charities we support

Each year we support Blythswood through their shoe box appeal.

The goods packed up in the boxes go to help people in Eastern Europe less fortunate than ourselves.

We support Christian Aid through the yearly door to door collections in our town. This is a joint effort with the other Churches in the town.

  We are a Fairtrade Church

 Malawi Bike Ride 2007

News

We have supported the work of EMMS since 2004 through regular collection box donations and through taking part in sponsored bike rides. Since 2004 our church has helped raise over £35,000 for the work of EMMS in Malawi.

We have recently started supporting UFM -

"Unevangelised Fields Mission"

"UFM Worldwide is an interdenominational mission sending missionaries, mainly from the UK, to Africa, Asia, Asia Pacific, Europe and South America". From their Web site

In 2011 EMMS is planning to have its 4th Malawi Bike Ride.

If you are interested in taking part or would like more information then please speak to me. I can provide estimates of the personal cost to you as well as fund raising targets. For those who are fortunate enough to be fit and in good health it is an experience which will remain a part of you for a very long time.
