FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I request seats for Sunday services?

Seats can be requested here from Sunday till Thursday or by telephoning or email our minister Gavin Niven 01560-482418 or minister@johnknox.org.uk or Pastoral and Congregational team leader Cath Shaw 01560-483352 catherine.shaw@avoice.co.uk

What to expect when you come

When arriving at church you will be greeted by a welcomer at the door, who will explain the process to be followed. You will be required to wear a face covering/mask and any gloves should be removed and disposed of before entering the Sanctuary. Hands should be sanitised on arrival and exit - available at all entrances/exits. You will be shown to your seat and when moving around, please follow the floor markings and social distancing of 2 metres. You may need warmer clothing when attending as we need to ensure adequate ventilation. All high usage surfaces (such as handrails, door handles and toilets etc.) will be sanitised regularly in accordance with government guidelines. There will be toilet facilities available. There won’t be any children’s groups yet at the church (these continue online) but H2O youth are meeting on Sunday afternoons. Contact Gillian Burns gillian@johnknox.org.uk for further details.

I don’t have a computer or smart phone. Can I still use Zoom with a normal phone?

If you can't access Zoom online then you don't need to miss out, it is possible to join in from a landline phone! You simply call 0131 460 1196 (free if 0131 numbers are free on your phone package), you'll be first asked to put in a meeting ID and then ignore the bit about participant ID, key #. You’ll then be asked for a six-digit password. Key this and you'll be connected alongside everyone else! You won’t have the benefit of being able to see everyone else but you will be able to join in the conversation!
